Privacy Policy

Today’s Animal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a daily animal-fact website and mobile application. This policy explains the information handled when you use Today’s Animal.
Information we handle
You can use Today’s Animal without creating an account or giving us your name, email address, or other contact information.
- Saved animals: Animals you save are stored locally on your device. We do not receive or store your saved-animal list on our servers.
- Push notifications: If you enable notifications, our notification provider, OneSignal, and Apple Push Notification service process information needed to deliver them. This may include a push token, device and app identifiers, device type, operating-system information, IP address, notification preferences, and notification delivery or interaction data.
- Website and app activity: Cloudflare Web Analytics may process limited technical and usage information, such as browser or device type, referring page, approximate location derived from an IP address, and pages viewed, to help us understand performance and general usage.
- Content requests: When the service retrieves animal information or images from Wikipedia or Wikimedia, those services may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, device or browser information, and the requested page.
- Support messages: If you email us, we receive the information you include and use it to respond to you.
How we use information
We use information to operate and improve Today’s Animal, deliver notifications you request, diagnose technical problems, understand general usage, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Your choices
Notifications are optional. You can turn them on or off in the app’s Settings screen or in iOS Settings. You can remove individual saved animals in the app. Deleting the app or clearing its local data removes locally stored saved animals.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the service, including OneSignal for push notifications, Apple for notification delivery, Cloudflare for analytics and infrastructure, and Wikipedia/Wikimedia for animal information and images. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies:
Retention and security
Saved animals remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app’s data, or delete the app. Support emails are retained as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain records. Our service providers retain information according to their own policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children’s privacy
Today’s Animal is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date.
